The unveiling and moving ceremony of the new office of the northern squadron of NFA’s Special Search and Rescue Team was held on Mar 3, 2017 jointly by Director General of NFA, Chen Wen-lung, Deputy Director Generals Hsieh Ching-hsu and Chiang Chi-Jen, Director General of Taiwan Area National Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Jaw Shing-hau, Director of Northern Region Engineering Office, Taiwan Area National Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Kang Chih-fu, and Director General of Keelung City Fire Department, Tang Chen-yu.

Director General Chen showed his appreciation to Northern Region Engineering Office, Taiwan Area National Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications for its full assistance and support as it provided a perfect location of disaster rescue for NFA in northern Taiwan. This allowed our firefighters to perform their duties in an environment where with high accessibility and sound equipment, which will definitely help continue refining the improvements in terms of life searching and rescuing trainings and providing the fastest rescue service for people in northern Taiwan.

As the type and scale of disasters become more complicated and dangerous due to climate changes and economic development, Director General encouraged the workers of the northern squadron of NFA’s Special Search and Rescue Team to carry out training and drills for the improvement of rescue skills, pay attention to their own safety when performing duty, and play the role of life saver all year round, and provide the best available service for people in order to ensure the safety of their lives and property.
